About the Lab
The lab provides study, research, and teaching space, and an area that is dedicated to stone tool replication and experimentation. The lab also houses a technology library, and archaeological and ethnographic collections.
ANTH 3701 (Lithic Technology) is taught in the lab, as are weekly sections of ANTH 2501 (Introduction to Archaeology) and a variety of seminars.
The lab’s current research projects include:
- Technological analysis of Lower, Middle, and Upper Palaeolithic stone tool assemblages from the south Caucasus.
- Experimental flint knapping and replication.
