What sparked your interest in anthropology?

As an undergraduate student, I accompanied my professor to Tbilisi, Georgia as a research assistant. There, I learnt the basics of faunal analysis and participated in an excavation for the first time. I remember how time flew both when excavating and trying to identify a mark on a bone. So I wanted to learn more about what those marks can tell us.

What do you find most interesting about your fieldwork/research location?

Georgia is located at the corridor between Africa and Eurasia, which makes it a fascinating place to ask questions about hominin expansion. There are many Paleolithic sites in the country and the overall area, which creates a cool opportunity for cross-comparison of findings.

What do you do in your downtime? 

I like reading, yoga, walks in nature and hanging out with friends. Every now and then binging series and movies 🙂
