Research Interests
I am a Paleoclimate scientist and Iron Age Archaeologist working in Mozambique and East Africa. My research interests include using stable isotopes, molluscan biodiversity, organic geochemical biomarker analyses of lake cores, and archaeo-ethnohistorical archives to reconstruct climate. Currently my focus is on using these methods to reconstruct Holocene Indian Ocean Monsoon systems and to interpret how their intensification impacts coastal settlement and land use patterns in coastal sites in Mozambique.
