UConn Today article: Making a Difference, from the Classroom to the Community details E-Corps program and Disaster Corps curriculum. This article delves into the history, community impact, and future of the E-Corps program. The Environmental Corps (E-Corps) program serves the dual purpose of partnering with towns to assist in bridging capacity gaps, while providing an innovative approach to educating and inspiring students. E-Corps projects typically focus on compiling information, examining scenarios, or employing tools that are unfamiliar to, beyond the capacity of, or too time-consuming for town staff. 

Anthropology professor Shoreman-Ouimet has developed a new E-Corps course titled Disaster Corps. This course focuses on assisting communities in preparing and responding to weather related hazards and disasters.
