Student Instagram Exhibit: “In-Tension”

In-Tension Art Exhibit

In Dr. Françoise Dussart’s course Anthropological Perspectives on Art, students became curators of their own digital exhibit, “In-Tension.”

This online exhibition delves into the complex relationship between tension and intention in the creation, presentation, and interpretation of artworks through an anthropological lens. The 60 second reels created by 19 students-curators explore the contradictions and reflects on the diverse intentions that shape artistic expression. In this exhibition, we invite you to reflect on how tension and intention interweave in the reels, and to consider the complex relationships between the artist, the artwork, and the viewer. As you explore the themes, narratives, and intentions embedded in the art, we hope you will engage with the ongoing dialogue between creation, interpretation, and experience.
