Eleanor Ouimet, assistant professor of anthropology, has been named a 2023-2024 winner of the University Teaching Innovation Award by the UConn Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL).

The CETL University Teaching Innovation Award recognizes individuals who show a demonstrated commitment to continuously improving teaching through innovation and reflective practice. These individuals also show dedication to teaching effectiveness and support enhanced levels of student engagement and learning.

The award recognizes Ouimet's work on ANTH 1010E - Global Climate Change and Human Societies, for which she designed group projects that culminate in a climate change research poster symposium held each semester.

Earlier this year, Ouimet also received the UConn Office of Sustainability's Environmental Leadership Award for her teaching and research on environmental justice.
